Community Partners Help Palm Project Start the School Year Strong
This summer, businesses, organizations, churches and volunteers across Baldwin County came together to support Palm Project and help make sure students began the new school year with the essential items they need to succeed.
The Baldwin County Education Coalition is grateful to Ashurst Niemeyer Real Estate, Ascend Performance Materials, Baldwin EMC, Collins Aerospace, Krewe of Serendipity, Mingledorff’s and Fairhope St. James Episcopal for hosting supply drives and collecting school supplies, hygiene products and other necessities for students across Baldwin County Public Schools.
Together, the donated items represented a retail value of more than $10,000.
Those in-kind donations do more than fill shelves. They allow Palm Project to stretch grant and donor dollars further by reducing the amount that must be spent on donated items and directing more resources toward the high-demand essentials schools need most throughout the year.
The Coalition is also thankful for the many volunteers who gave their time to sort, count, organize and stock the donated items at the Palm Project warehouse. Their work helped prepare inventory for distribution ahead of the start of school.
As the 2026–2027 school year began, Palm Project partners at 44 school campuses were able to restock their Care Closets with essentials for students. Through Palm Project, school counselors and other designated staff can connect students with school supplies, hygiene products, clothing, snacks and other basic necessities when a need arises.
These community partnerships help ensure students can focus on learning rather than worrying about whether they have the basic items they need for the school day.
