A new look for the same mission, reflecting 15 years of impact and a renewed commitment to public education in Baldwin County.

The Baldwin Education Coalition has unveiled a refreshed brand identity and redesigned website, marking a new chapter in the organization’s continued work to support students, empower educators, and strengthen public education across Baldwin County.

The new look reflects where the Coalition is today, 15 years after formally becoming a nonprofit organization, while staying rooted in the same purpose that brought its work together from the beginning: a belief that strong public schools are the foundation of strong communities.

The Baldwin Education Coalition first began in 2009, when leaders from seven local education enrichment foundations came together with a shared desire to work collectively on initiatives that could impact every child in Baldwin County Public Schools. In 2011, the Coalition formally became a nonprofit organization, creating a unified countywide effort to support public education. Today, Baldwin County Public Schools serves nearly 32,000 students in one of Alabama’s largest and fastest-growing school systems. As the needs of students, educators, and schools have continued to grow, the Coalition has grown with them.

The organization’s mission remains clear: to invest in public education by bridging gaps, empowering educators, and promoting student success through community engagement, advocacy, and strategic partnerships.

The refreshed brand and website were developed to help tell that story more clearly.

“This rebrand is not about changing who we are,” said Terry Burkle, Executive Director of the Baldwin Education Coalition. “It is about better telling the story of who we have become and where we are going. For 15 years, the Coalition has worked to connect our community to the needs, opportunities, and future of public education in Baldwin County. This refreshed brand gives us a stronger platform to share that story and invite more people to be part of it.”

The Coalition’s new brand identity is centered around the same three focus areas that have guided its work from the beginning: Students, Educators, and Community. Each is represented visually through the updated brand system, with colors, design elements, and messaging that reflect the energy, optimism, and partnership at the heart of the Coalition’s work.

The redesigned website, available at www.BetterBaldwin.com, gives visitors a clearer look at the Coalition’s mission, history, programs, partnerships, and impact. It also provides easier pathways for community members to learn more, donate, volunteer, attend events, support public education, or become a partner.

Across the site, the Coalition’s refreshed messaging highlights the role it plays in meeting needs where public funds cannot. Public schools are funded through public dollars, but those funds are often restricted and cannot cover every need students, educators, and schools face. The Coalition helps bridge those gaps by connecting community support to real needs in Baldwin County schools.

Through initiatives like Palm Project, the Baldwin Proud Future Teacher Scholarship, the JLS International Vocational Scholarship, the Gulf Regional Innovative Teaching Conference, and community-driven fundraising and partnership efforts, the Coalition continues to support students, equip educators, and invest in stronger public schools.

“Investing in public education is one of the most important investments we can make in the future of Baldwin County,” said Mark Ingram, Chairman of the Coalition Board and representing Baldwin EMC. “Over the past 15 years, the Coalition has grown significantly, and this refreshed brand reflects that progress. It recognizes the Coalition’s foundation while positioning the organization for continued growth and making a greater impact for students, educators, and our entire community.”

The rebrand also supports the Coalition’s renewed focus on storytelling. From students receiving essential items through Palm Project, to future teachers and vocational students earning scholarships, to educators gaining professional development and classroom support, the Coalition’s work is best understood through the stories of the people it serves.

Those stories show the ripple effect of community investment. When a student has the basic items they need, they can focus on learning. When educators feel supported, they are better equipped to help students thrive. When businesses, donors, volunteers, and community partners get involved, schools become stronger and the future of Baldwin County becomes brighter.

The Coalition’s vision is to work toward a future where public education is fully supported, every student has what they need to thrive, and all schools are empowered to excel.

That vision remains unchanged.

While the look is new, the mission is the same. The Baldwin Education Coalition remains committed to investing in public education to build brighter futures for every Baldwin County student.

Community members are invited to explore the new website at www.BetterBaldwin.com to learn more about the Coalition’s programs, impact, partners, and opportunities to get involved.
