JOHN DEWEY
Schools and Society
Baldwin citizens are joining forces to promote the success of every child and, in turn, to realize our potential as a community.
Our advocacy work is driven by our Co-owned Strategic Plan (PDF file) which addresses goals and objectives defined by a year of intense public engagement and collaborative decision-making.

- adoption of national core standards
- aggressive steps to improve the graduation rate and post-secondary preparedness
- proactive accountability reporting in every area
- a paradigm shift toward 21st century teaching and learning
But the Co-owned Strategic Plan also prescribes an equally important, parallel set of action steps which are the community’s responsibility to accomplish:
The key to achieving our objectives for improvements in Funding, Data-driven Accountability, Leadership, College and Career Readiness and Communication lies in sustaining a focused, cohesive partnership between schools and community.
